Brookfield and La Caisse acquire Boralex

On August 14, 2026, Brookfield Asset Management (“Brookfield”) and Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (“La Caisse”) completed the acquisition of Boralex Inc. (“Boralex”) in a take-private transaction by way of a plan of arrangement. Under the arrangement, Brookfield and La Caisse acquired all of the issued and outstanding Class A common shares of Boralex for cash consideration of $US37.25 per share. 

Brookfield is a global alternative asset manager with investments across renewable energy, private equity, real estate and credit.

La Caisse, based in Québec City, Québec, is a global institutional investment group focused on public markets, private equity, infrastructure, real estate and private credit.

Boralex, headquartered in Québec, is a renewable energy producer focused on the development, construction and operation of wind, solar and hydroelectric power facilities across Canada, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom.
