Cindy Vaillancourt is a partner in our Business Law Group and specializes in environmental and regulatory law.
Cindy acts on behalf of clients operating in a wide range of industrial sectors (e.g., mining, petrochemical, aeronautics, waste, pulp and paper, agribusiness) and manages numerous matters related to environmental compliance, contaminated land remediation and obtaining permits required for industrial projects in Québec, including the provincial and federal environmental assessment process. In the context of company sales or purchases, public offerings, real estate transactions and financing, she coordinates environmental due diligence and manages the contractual aspects of environmental issues.
Cindy has considerable expertise on climate change, especially in terms of issues related to the Quebec and Ontario greenhouse cap-and-trade system.
She earned her master’s degree in international and transnational law (LL. M.) and her bachelor’s degree in civil law (LL. B.) from Université Laval. Prior to joining our Montréal office in 2006, Cindy was a legal and political advisor on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, notably on climate change issues.
