Gwenyth Wren is an associate in McCarthy Tétrault’s Environmental, Regulatory, and Aboriginal Group based in Toronto. Gwenyth was admitted to the Ontario Bar in June 2024.

Gwenyth obtained her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2023. While in law school she worked as a legal researcher at Oxford University and London School of Economics in these roles she contributed to a number of projects including research on the intersection of climate change mitigation strategies, and human rights that was presented at COP26 in Glasgow. She also studied at the the National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Law, with a focus on energy and international law. During law school, Gwenyth won awards for academic excellence and contribution to the community for her work with the Law in Action in Schools program and Pro Bono Students Canada. 

Before pursuing her law degree, she earned her Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) in Environmental Studies from McGill University in 2020 where she received a SSHRC grant to complete a 5-month field study in East Africa that sparked a keen interest in the energy sector and environmental law.

Outside of work, Gwenyth volunteers at New Horizons Long-term Care Centre and is passionate about exploring new cultures and cuisines through travel and experiencing nature through running and hiking.
