Silver Lake Partners to acquire 51% of Intel Corporation's Altera Business

On April 14, 2025, Silver Lake Partners announced they entered a definitive agreement with Intel Corporation in which Silver Lake will acquire 51% of Intel Corporation's Altera business.The deal grants Altera operational autonomy, positioning it as the leading company solely focused on FPGA (field programmable gate array) semiconductor solutions, with a valuation of US$8.75 billion. Intel will retain a 49% stake in Altera's business.

Intel Corporation based in California, USA is a  technology firm that creates, produces, and markets computer parts such as CPUs and other related products for both business and consumer use.
