Zach puts clients’ business needs first, planning and executing transactions in a way that makes sense.
Zach Kroll is an associate in the Business Law Group in Toronto. His practice focuses on financial services, representing both lenders and borrowers in financing transactions.
Prior to joining McCarthy Tétrault, Zach articled at a midsized law firm, frequently working with both large and mid-market clients. During this time, his experience working with smaller clients sensitized him to the need for cost-efficient legal services which adequately account for both economic opportunities and financial vulnerabilities.
Zach received his JD from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law in 2021. In his final year of law school, he gained leadership and organizational experience as a co-director of the Law Follies (the faculty’s annual theater production), coordinating dozens of team members to write, film and produce the show in an online format. In his practice, he applies the same organizational skills to organize, revise and deliver legal documents.
Prior to law school, Zach received a Bachelors of Commerce, also from the University of Toronto, specializing in Finance and Economics and minoring in English. While a student, he worked for the University’s Department of Economics as a tutor, gaining early experience providing advice and insights on finance-related issues. Zach was also a member and captain of the University’s business case competition team, developing deeper insights into how to systematically identify and address practical business needs.
Zach was called to the Ontario Bar in 2022, and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball, reading old books and eating at the same two or three restaurants every week.
