Vivian is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. She obtained her Master of Accounting and Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management degrees from the University of Waterloo.
During law school, Vivian spent her 1L summer at Wealthsimple Inc as their Legal Intern where she worked on various investment-related regulatory, legal and operational matters. For her 2L summer, Vivian split her summer working in New York at Shearman & Sterling LLP and in Toronto at McCarthy Tétrault LLP.
Prior to attending law school, Vivian was an auditor for several years at Deloitte LLP in the Financial Institutions industry group. Her client portfolio included banks, private equity funds and insurance companies in Canada and US. Subsequent to her career as an auditor, Vivian transitioned into her role as a management consultant in the Financial Services Consulting Group at PwC LLP. In this role, Vivian helped various banks, credit unions and financial regulators in numerous strategic and operational improvement initiatives. While at PwC, Vivian was also a subject matter expert in the Financial Risk Management group where she provided derivatives and hedging advisory services. Vivian is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.
In her spare time, Vivian volunteers for the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (FACL) as a Student Director where she is involved with the mentorship, community outreach and treasury committees.
