Team Value and Skills

Rovshan Hajiyev is a Paralegal in the Labour and Employment Group in Montreal and Toronto offices of McCarthy Tétrault LLP. Rovshan assists clients with a wide range of Canadian immigration matters, including Business Immigration, Express Entry Programs, Temporary Foreign Workers, Labour Market Impact Assessments, NAFTA/FTAs, Provincial Nominee Programs, Students and Visitors, Family Sponsorships, among others.

The combination of Rovshan’s professional knowledge, technical skills and extensive experience helps our clients navigate through the complex maze of Canadian immigration programs and requirements in order to achieve their personal or business goals.

Experience

Rovshan is a seasoned paraprofessional with over twenty years of experience in Canada and the United States. Prior to joining our team, Rovshan spent over ten years as a Manager of the Immigration Law Group at a major Ottawa law firm.

Rovshan also has over ten years of experience in the area of international corporate, trade, and energy law gained during his extensive work at a large US law firm in its Dallas, TX and Washington, DC offices.

Certifications and Education

Rovshan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in both Economics and International Studies from Texas A&M University in 1997. He also holds an Immigration Consultant Diploma.

Rovshan continues to improve his professional expertise and skill by regularly staying on top of developments in the area of immigration law by attending relevant conferences and seminars.

In addition to English, Rovshan is also fluent in Russian and Azeri languages, and has a limited working knowledge of Turkish language.
