Jennifer Sun is an associate in our Financial Services Group in Toronto. Her practice focuses on a broad range of banking and finance transactions, including secured lending transactions, syndicated and bilateral financings, and acquisition financing.
Jennifer received her JD from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. At law school, Jennifer was an executive member and subsequently the Co-President of the Asia Law Society to help Asian-identifying students build a strong community at the Faculty of Law. She was also a member of Ultra Vires, the independent student newspaper, and volunteered with the Pro Bono Students Canada. In addition, she worked at OMERS in her 1L summer as part of McCarthy Tétrault LLP Business Law / OMERS Summer Internship where she gained invaluable client-side experience. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (FACL) Ontario.
Prior to law school, she obtained her Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo School of Planning, and Master of City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design. Before embarking on her legal career, Jennifer was an urban planner at a global urban design and planning consultancy based in Toronto and worked on projects in Canada and the United States.
Jennifer was called to the Ontario Bar in 2024 and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
