Grace Waschuk is an associate in our Litigation Group in Calgary. She maintains a broad corporate commercial litigation practice, focusing on areas including financial services, privacy and commercial leasing litigation. She has experience appearing before all levels of court in Alberta as well as Saskatchewan’s Court of Queen’s Bench. Grace also regularly provides strategic advice to clients including retail, consumer product and technology companies on issues relating to privacy and regulatory compliance.

Grace is a member of the firm’s Cyber/Data and Tech groups and is a contributor to the firm’s TechLex Blog. She was a contributing author of the Cybersecurity Risk Management: A Practical Guide for Businesses as well as the fifth edition of Defending Class Actions in Canada, published by LexisNexis.

Grace regularly volunteers with the Civil Claims Duty Counsel Project as well as the Queen’s Bench Amicus Project, which provide free legal services to assist unrepresented and disadvantaged litigants with their civil claims. She is also an active participant in the firm’s pro bono, recruitment and mentorship initiatives.

Grace received her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen's University and her Juris Doctor (with Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan. During law school, Grace served as a law review editor, community outreach coordinator and participated in mooting and advocacy competitions. Following her studies, Grace clerked for the Honourable Justice James Russell at the Federal Court of Canada in Ottawa, gaining broad administrative law experience.

Grace was called to the Ontario bar in 2016. She is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and the Calgary Bar Association. Grace is also a board member for Downstage, a Calgary-based theatre company dedicated to producing and presenting Canadian theatre that creates meaningful conversation around social issues.
