Edwin Mok is counsel in our Intellectual Property Litigation Group in Toronto. He serves clients in complex intellectual property disputes, with a focus on pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Edwin has represented several innovator pharmaceutical companies in patent trials before the Federal Court.
Prior to joining McCarthy Tétrault, Edwin practiced at a leading firm in New York City, where he acted for innovator companies in life sciences patent disputes, and also represented pro bono clients seeking asylum in the United States. From 2013-2014, he served as law clerk to the Honourable Justice Mary Gleason (then of the Federal Court).
Edwin received his Honours Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology from the University of Toronto in 2009. In 2012, Edwin received his JD from the University of Ottawa. In 2015, he obtained his LLM from New York University, with a focus on IP and privacy law.
Edwin was called to the Ontario bar in 2013. He was admitted to the New York bar in 2016.
