With a background in law and management engineering, Daanish harnesses his legal and technical knowledge to develop strategic and efficient solutions for clients’ complex business challenges.

Daanish Pasricha is an associate in the firm’s Business Law Group and Fintech Group in Toronto. He maintains a general corporate and commercial practice, with a focus on assisting clients navigate complex Canadian regulatory requirements across various industries including Fintech, Financial Services and Insurance. In particular, Daanish has advised clients on the registration of crypto-trading platforms in Canada, consumer protection requirements, requirements for insurance brokerages and insurers to establish operations across Canada and anti-money laundering requirements. Daanish has also published numerous articles and blog posts on topics such as digital assets, cryptocurrency, anti-money laundering and banking and financial regulation.

Daanish received his J.D. from Queen’s University in 2020. During law school, Daanish was a volunteer with the Canadian Labour and Employment Law Journal and an oralist in the Bowman Tax Moot. Prior to studying law, Daanish obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Management Engineering from the University of Waterloo, where he graduated honours with distinction. Through the university’s co-op program, Daanish completed six internships across a wide range of industries including banking, manufacturing, wealth management, insurance, and intellectual property.

Daanish joined the firm as a summer student in 2019 and completed his articles with the firm in 2021. Daanish was called to the Ontario Bar in 2021 and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario. Daanish has also obtained a Certificate in Blockchain Law from Osgoode Hall Law School to bolster his understanding of blockchain and distributed ledger technologies, and their potential impact on the financial system and other industries. Outside of his legal practice, Daanish is an avid Chicago sports fan and enjoys playing basketball and football, travelling and chess.
