Alison Bond is a partner in our Litigation Group in Toronto. Her practice focuses on complex commercial disputes, including securities litigation, financial services litigation, oil and gas disputes and regulatory matters.
As part of her practice, Alison advises clients who are parties to international and domestic arbitrations, including under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).
Alison also has significant experience handling complex and sensitive internal and regulatory investigations. Alison previously worked in London, UK where she gained experience advising on global investigations involving numerous authorities in the UK and abroad.
Alison’s recent notable matters include:
- representing The Toronto-Dominion Bank in a $5.5 billion action arising from the collapse of Stanford International Bank (McDonald and Dickson v. TD Bank, 2021 ONSC 3872).
- representing Cineworld plc in significant M&A litigation concerning $2.8B+ termination of arrangement agreement (Cineplex v. Cineworld, 2021 ONSC 8016);
- an LCIA arbitration over a dispute for matters related to a Joint Operating Agreement covered by a production license in Germany; and
- representing a mining company in a domestic arbitration relating to a royalty agreement.
Alison received her Honours BA from Queen’s University, a Masters of Arts from York University and an LLB from the City Law School, University of London.
Alison is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Law Society of England and Wales.
