On November 11, 2011, PMC-Sierra completed the acquisition of RAD3 Communications Inc. 

PMC-Sierra, headquartered in Sunnyvale, California,  is a fabless semiconductor company.

RAD3 Communications, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, is a supplier of communications intellectual property for new and emerging wired and wireless communication standards.
