Syndicate of lenders and CIBC, as agent, finance the development of a lithium ion battery storage plant

On May 8, 2026, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, as agent ("CIBC") and National Bank of Canada, Bank of Montreal, Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, CIBC, and the other financial institutions party thereto from time to time, as lenders (the "Lenders"), entered into a credit agreement with Trailroad BESS Inc., as borrower, connection with the financing of the construction and operation of an approximately 150 megawatt / 600 megawatt hour capacity lithium ion battery storage project under development in Ottawa, Ontario.
McCarthy Tétrault assisted the syndicate of lenders with a team led by Gordon Baird, Chris Zawadzki, Kristin Dosen, Isabelle Deschênes that included Paul Galbraith (Real Property and Planning), Kerri Lui, Gwenyth Wren (Environmental), Mubarik Khan, Ursula Kenkel (Real Estate), Matthew Schuman, and Aleah Lavelley-Lewis (Municipal).
