Known for her practical and result driven strategy, Saneea achieves effective resolutions for her clients in various bankruptcy, insolvency, restructuring and commercial litigation matters.

Saneea Tanvir is an associate in our Litigation Group and Bankruptcy & Restructuring Group in Toronto. Her practice focuses on the areas of commercial insolvency, restructuring, bankruptcy and commercial litigation.

Saneea has extensive experience representing creditors, debtors and court-appointed officers in receiverships, bankruptcies, and corporate restructurings. Saneea regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List) and the Bankruptcy Court in Toronto.

Prior to joining McCarthy Tétrault, Saneea was an associate at a leading multi-practice law firm in Toronto, where she practiced insolvency and restructuring.

Saneea received her J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she was actively involved in the Osgoode Business Clinic. Prior to law school, Saneea obtained her Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences in Political Science and Ethics, Society and Law from the University of Toronto.

Saneea was called to the Ontario Bar in 2019. She is a member of the Ontario Bar Association (OBA), Canadian Bar Association and the Toronto Lawyers Association. Saneea sits on the Board of Directors of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC). She also sits on the Executive Board of the OBA – Insolvency Law Section. Saneea actively partakes in the mentorship program run by MAX/Canadian Muslim Lawyers Association as a mentor.
