Ritika is completing her Juris Doctor degree at the University of Western Ontario. She completed her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Guelph, where she majored in political science and minored in history.
During her undergraduate studies, Ritika was honoured with several awards for her academic performance, including the Byron Sheldrick Scholarship in Law and Politics, and the Dean’s Scholarship over three consecutive years. Ritika is also the proud recipient of the Continuing Dean of Law Scholarship from Western Law.
Prior to law school, Ritika interned at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario through the prestigious Ontario Legislature Internship Programme. She went on to become a Constituency Assistant, serving the beautiful riding of Kiiwetinoong.
During her first year of law school, Ritika was a Gladue Writer with N’Amerind Friendship Centre through Pro Bono Students Canada. She was also a Debwewin Summer Legal Intern, where she supported the Justice team at the Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres. In her second year, Ritika was a Research Assistant in Competition Law, and she continues to serve as a Co-Director for the Students for Truth and Reconciliation Committee.
Ritika enjoys trying new recipes, watching documentaries, and planning her next trip – she hopes to visit Latin America next.
