A thoughtful and perceptive litigation lawyer with an entrepreneurial spirit, Omair combines a personable approach with a commitment to delivering efficient and innovative solutions, ensuring outstanding results for his clients.

Omair is an associate in the Litigation Group in Toronto. He maintains a broad civil litigation practice, with an emphasis on corporate commercial litigation, contractual disputes, and professional liability. Omair also maintains an alternative dispute resolution practice, having assisted clients with domestic and international arbitrations seated in Canada and abroad. 

Omair’s representative experience includes advising:

  • A multi-national corporation with the resolution of a multi-billion dollar international oppression and dissent arbitration.
  • Neighbourly Pharmacy Inc. in connection with its acquisition by Persistence Capital Partners.
  • A major industrial real estate corporation in a dispute with a large Canadian municipality.
  • Farmers Edge Inc. in connection with its acquisition by a subsidiary of Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited.

Community Involvement

Deeply committed to community involvement, Omair plays an active role in the Muslim community in the Greater Toronto Area. He served as President and Senior Advisor of the Muslim Law Students Association at the University of Ottawa and has appeared as a guest lecturer at the Canadian Islamic Union. Omair is also a member of the Canadian Muslim Lawyers Association (“CMLA”).

Additionally, Omair is as a member of the South Asian Bar Association of Toronto (“SABA Toronto”), Canada’s largest legal diversity organization. Through SABA Toronto, Omair has mentored and assisted students in navigating their paths into the legal profession, helping to foster a more diverse and inclusive environment for the next generation of legal professionals.

Education

Omair received his law degree from the University of Ottawa, where he received a bronze medal in the Walsh Family Law Negotiation Competition and served as a legal research assistant on the subjects of blockchain and smart contracts.

Before attending law school, Omair obtained his International Bachelor of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University, while also completing exchange programs at Universidad Católica de Ávila in Spain and Singapore Management University. At Schulich, Omair was the 2017 Schulich Debate Cup Champion and a Silver Medalist at the DECA Regional Competition.

During his undergraduate and law school education, Omair founded and operated a successful B2B business, gaining executional expertise and insights into effectively advising and servicing business clients.

Omair was called to the Ontario Bar in 2022. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the CMLA, SABA Toronto, and the Advocate’s Society. He also serves as Secretary for the Ontario Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section.
