Matthew currently studies at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in Kamloops. Prior to this, he graduated from the University of Victoria, receiving a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in History. 

While at law school, Matthew founded the TRU Law Professional Clothing Closet, a club that works to alleviate some of the associated costs of becoming a lawyer. In his second year of studies, he helped organize TRU’s most extensive student-led Access to Justice Week to date. Matthew received the Law Foundation of BC Entrance Scholarship prior to beginning at TRU. 

In his spare time Matthew enjoys everything outdoors, especially in the company of his dog, June. Matthew is an avid backcountry skier and snowmobiler, and likes to mountain bike and hike between winters.
