Hakim Kassam is the Director of Professional Resources for McCarthy Tetrault’s Toronto office, where he is responsible for junior associates (Years 1 to 3) in the Litigation, Labour & Employment and Tax groups. He also helps to oversee the firm’s student program. Working with the firm’s national and local leadership, Hakim focuses on associate and student professional development, performance management and advancement. Hakim’s approach is shaped by the firm’s core objectives of providing exceptional client service, and advancing a market-leading equity, diversity and inclusion strategy.
Prior to joining the Professional Resources team, Hakim practiced as a lawyer in the firm’s litigation group. In practice, Hakim enjoyed mentoring students and junior lawyers and participating in the firm’s student recruitment initiatives. Hakim joined McCarthy Tetrault as a summer student in 2014, and obtained his J.D. from Windsor Law in 2015. Hakim is called to the Ontario bar (2016) and is a member of the Ontario Bar Association and Canadian Bar Association.
