Dirk Rueter is a partner in the Business Law Group in Toronto. His practice focuses primarily on structured finance, including asset-backed financings, factoring arrangements and derivative transactions.
Dirk has been involved in creating both multi-seller and single-seller securitization structures. Throughout his career, he has acted for purchasers, sellers, rating agencies, trustees, liquidity providers and credit enhancers in various conduit-based and single-seller securitizations involving numerous asset classes, including leases, residential and commercial mortgages, trade receivables, retail instalment contracts and stranded costs. Dirk has also acted as issuer and arranger counsel in Canadian covered bond transactions. Dirk has represented some of the most significant corporations and financial institutions in Canada.
He has participated in and spoken at a number of industry conferences in Canada in the areas of securitization and structured finance generally.
Dirk holds an LLB from Osgoode Hall (1990).
