Danielle Miller is counsel in our Litigation Group in Toronto. She has a broad range of prosecutorial experience in the areas of criminal law and professional regulation. Danielle’s practice focuses on prosecution work for the Ontario College of Teachers.

Danielle began her career as a litigator at McCarthy Tétrault, following her clerkship for Justice Peter Cory at the Supreme Court of Canada. She practiced a broad range of litigation with an emphasis on medical malpractice, professional discipline and criminal law matters. Danielle then joined the Ministry of the Attorney General as an Assistant Crown Attorney for nine years where she prosecuted criminal jury and non-jury trials before the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Courts. Danielle also served as legal counsel for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Both roles allowed Danielle to gain significant experience as a prosecutor and advocate before a variety of levels of court and administrative tribunals.

In addition to her years in legal practice, Danielle served as the Director of Legal Recruitment and Student & Associate programs at another major Bay Street law firm where she was responsible for growth and talent management strategies. Danielle is also a certified executive coach and founded her own coaching business where she worked with a broad range of executives and lawyers to help them identify their personal and work-related goals.

Danielle was called to the Bar in 1997. She received her B.A. (First Class Honours) from McGill University in 1990, her LL.B. from the University of Toronto in 1995 (Bronze medallist), and her LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2014.
