Bruna Kalinoski is an associate in our Intellectual Property Litigation Group in Toronto. Her practice focuses on intellectual property disputes, primarily in the area of complex, high-stakes patent litigation.

Bruna’s experience includes providing support in patent litigation across various sectors, including in the Pharmaceuticals, Telecommunications, and Investment Fund Technologies industries. Bruna also has experience providing support on matters of Technology, Anti-Spam, Privacy, and Data Law, including Health Data Privacy Law impacting precision medicine technologies development.

Before joining McCarthy Tétrault, Bruna served as law clerk to the Hon. Justice Eladio Rocha of the Court of Appeal of the State of Santa Catarina, Brazil. She was routinely engaged in appeal proceedings, assisting in deliberations on a broad array of civil and commercial disputes. In Canada, Bruna obtained significant exposure to IP Law and Technology Law matters while interning in a multi-lingual law boutique with focus on IP, licensing, franchising, and international law. She subsequently summered and articled at McCarthy Tétrault in our IP Litigation and Technology practice groups.

Bruna is an Osgoode Hall Law School alumnus (LL.M. degree) and remains an active editor for IPilogue — Osgoode’s Intellectual Property Law Blog. While at Osgoode, Bruna served as research and teaching assistant in both Contract Law & Tort Law competencies. She received her LL.B from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Bruna was called to the Ontario Bar in 2019. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association. Bruna is also fluent in Portuguese and conversational in Spanish.
