On July 13, 2005, Castillian Resources reached an agreement with Falconbridge Brasil Limitada to earn a 50% interest in the Mangabal Nickel Project, Goias State, Brazil.

The Mangabal Nickel Project, a large area of approximately 765km2, encompasses a series of nickel sulphide bearing mafic/ultramafic intrusive rocks which have been intruded within a Proterozoic basin adjacent to an Archaean cratonic boundary, a structural relationship similar to most major nickel sulphide camps, eg Thompson, Raglan, Voiseys Bay, and Norilsk.
