On December 21, 2017, CSC Generation Inc., through its subsidiary DirectBuy, completed the acquisition of the major appliance warranty program of Sears Canada in its CCAA proceedings. As part of the acquisition, DirectBuy will honor Sears Canada extended warranties for all new DirectBuy members on similar terms at no additional cost.

CSC Generation is an investment house that purchased DirectBuy in February 2017. DirectBuy is an exclusive direct-to-consumer buying club that guarantees its members the lowest prices on several products and brands. DirectBuy has a member-only online shopping site as well as six brick and mortar locations in Canada.
