Leah was born in Vancouver and grew up on Vancouver Island. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Criminology from Vancouver Island University. Throughout her undergraduate degree, she received several scholarships for academic excellence and graduated with distinction in 2014. In her final semester, Leah completed an internship with Nanaimo Crown Counsel.
Leah returned to Vancouver to obtain her JD from Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. During her time at law school, Leah volunteered with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program and Access Pro Bono, and served on the executive of the Legal Education Outreach program. After first year, Leah also completed a volunteer internship with the Open Democracy Advice Centre in Cape Town.
In her second and third year, Leah served as a formal mentor for first year students. She participated in the 2016 Wilson Moot in Toronto, and completed her final semester abroad at the University of Edinburgh.
Outside the office, Leah enjoys horseback riding, yoga, world travel, and spending time with friends and family.
