Montréal, June 15, 2021 –  With an exceptional legal practice focused on real estate financings and a commitment to bettering the practice of mortgage law in North America, McCarthy Tétrault’s Annie Gagnon-Larocque has been named a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA).

The ACMA is a professional organization of 500 North American lawyers who are experts in mortgage law. Fellows distinguish themselves as practitioners through their skill and experience, bar association activities, lecturing, authorship, legislative work, and arguing cases of significance to mortgage transactions.

“Annie is a remarkable lawyer with a keen eye for complex and creative deals,” said Karl Tabbakh, Regional Managing Partner for Québec. “At a time when our clients in the senior housing, retail and hospitality sectors are looking for innovative ways to finance and refinance projects affected by the pandemic, Annie keeps one eye on the present real property landscape and another on where it will be when COVID-19 is over. The ACMA’s recognition of Annie’s work is a testament to her expertise and puts her alongside some of North America’s most accomplished legal counsel in the field of mortgage law. We are all delighted by her induction into the ACMA fellowship.”

Annie is a partner in the Montréal office’s Real Property and Planning Group, where she advises clients on real estate acquisitions and financing, property development, commercial leasing, and joint venture transactions. She stands out for her seamless service to clients navigating Québec’s unique legal system, as well as her national practice, which includes advising major Canadian corporations and cross-border investors.
