Stephanie Dewey joins National Tax Group
Toronto, January 4, 2021 – McCarthy Tétrault welcomes Stephanie Dewey to its Toronto office as a partner in the Firm’s National Tax Group. Stephanie’s addition to the team follows a year of significant growth at all levels of the National Tax Group, fortifying the Firm’s position as Canada’s premier corporate tax practice for large-scale planning mandates and complex litigation. With particular expertise advising multinational enterprises operating and investing in Canada, Stephanie’s deep technical knowledge will give new and existing clients timely advice in an environment of constantly changing tax laws.
Stephanie’s practice focuses on corporate tax planning, including the Canadian tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations and financings. Her recent experience with cross-border advisory covers inbound structuring, employee mobility and withholding tax and tax treaty issues.
Clients can also look forward to working with a thought leader in Canadian tax law. Stephanie is a regular speaker and author on changes in the Canadian tax landscape. Stephanie most recently presented to the Tax Executives Institute (Houston Chapter) on Canadian tax law changes impacting multinational enterprises and co-authored the 2021 Chambers and Partners – Transfer Pricing Practice Guide.
