McCarthy Tétrault is proud to announce that it has won the Catalyst Award for 2025, an achievement that honours the firm’s ongoing initiatives to advance gender equity and diversity.

Catalyst presents the award each year to forward-thinking organizations that develop new and innovative ways to advance equity, diversity and inclusion. Catalyst identified the firm’s pioneering Inclusion Now strategy as one of the market differentiators in recognizing McCarthy Tétrault as the first Canadian law firm to receive this international honour.

From its inception in 2019, McCarthy Tétrault’s Inclusion Now strategy has been championed by Dave Leonard, who will be retiring as CEO on December 31 after nine years.

“By integrating gender equity analysis across our policies and talent decisions, we're creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. We are honoured to receive this prestigious award from Catalyst,” Dave said.

Charlene Theodore, Chief Inclusion Officer, leads Inclusion Now, an initiative dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion in support of the firm’s members, its clients, the legal profession, as well as the broader community.
