Andrew Cressman Foster is an associate in our Financial Services group in Calgary. His practice is focused on a wide range of corporate lending and restructuring transactions.
Andrew has extensive experience representing and advising financial institutions and corporate clients in significant national, cross-border and international, bilateral and syndicated debt financing transactions. Andrew’s industry expertise includes oil and gas, energy services, real estate and equipment finance.
Recent experience includes:
- Counsel to a syndicate of lenders led by National Bank of Canada in connection with a credit agreement providing for senior secured credit facilities of C$100 million in favour of Enercapita Energy Ltd.
- Counsel to a syndicate of lenders led by Alberta Treasury Branches in connection with an amended and restated credit agreement providing for senior secured credit facilities of C$30 million and US$45.9 million in favour of Innova Global Ltd.
Andrew also has experience advising secured creditors, purchasers and lenders in a variety of matters, including creditor priority determinations under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, Income Tax Act and various other provincial statutes in Alberta.
Andrew obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Classical Studies, with a minor concentration in Politics, Law and Society from McGill University in 2012 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria in 2016. While in law school, Andrew volunteered as a director and as treasurer for a not-for-profit organization in Victoria, British Columbia.
Andrew was called to the Alberta bar in 2017 and is a member of the Calgary Bar Association, Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Alberta.
