On February 5, 2009, Infrastructure Ontario and the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre awarded the C$258.5 million contract to build and finance the Royal Victoria Regional Health CentrePhase 1 Expansion Project to Vanbots Inc. The project will double the size of the existing facility and will include the addition of the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre. This new cancer centre will provide comprehensive care to more than 2,000 newly diagnosed cancer patients each year throughout Simcoe County and the District of Muskoka.
Vanbots, is financing its participation in the project through a syndicate of lenders that includes Banco Espirito Santo de Investimento SA; National Australia Bank Limited; Norddeutsche Landesbank Gironzentrale; Bank of Montreal; CIT Financial Ltd.; National Bank of Canada Inc.; and Toronto Dominion Bank.
McCarthy Tétrault advised the lenders to Vanbots with a team that was led by Stephen Furlan and Gordon Willcocks.
