In June 2023, QuadReal Property Group ("QuadReal") completed the construction of The Post, an office and retail hub in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, valued in excess of C$600 million in construction costs. The Post features a two tower office covering 185,000 sq. of retail space and is the business home of Amazon locally and of 7000 people. The post is on track to achieve LEED Gold Certification, and will leverage waste heat recover, passive solar shading, and an energy-efficient building envelope. Our firm advised the owner on a number of active and ongoing contractual disputes respecting both the construction contract with PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc, and in respect of the lease with Amazon, during the course of the Project.
