Permira funds creates Synamedia from Cisco's SPVSS business

On October 29, 2018, Permira funds announced that it has acquired the Service Provider Video Software Solutions group from Cisco. Subsequent to the acquisition, Permira created Synamedia, an independent video delivery business whose technologies include Infinite Video Platform, cloud digital video recording, video processing, video security and client software. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Permira is a UK-based private equity firm with over €30 billion in committed capital. Headquartered in London, it operates out of 14 offices across Europe, the United States and Asia.

Cisco is a technology company headquartered in San Jose, California. It provides a variety of solutions including home networking, IP telephony, optical networking, security, storage area networking, and wireless technology.
