On December 17, 2024, The B.C. Court of Appeal allowed the appeal of the Law Society of British Columbia concerning the interpretation of the Law Society Rules governing the trust account record-keeping requirements for B.C. lawyers (Law Society of British Columbia v. Yen, 2024 BCCA 416).
The Law Society of British Columbia is the governing body of the legal profession in British Columbia and regulates lawyers to protect the public interest.
