On June 21, 2013, Marcopolo SA announced that it had completed its previously announced strategic C$116.4 million investment in New Flyer Industries Inc.  Marcopolo now owns 19.99% of the issued and outstanding common shares of New Flyer.

Marcopolo, headquartered in Caxias do Sul, Brazil, is a a bus body manufacturer.

New Flyer, headquartered in Manitoba, Canada, is a manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses.

McCarthy Tétrault LLP represented Marcopolo, the acquiror, with a team led by David Tennant.
