On May 25, 2021, Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx awarded a fixed-price contract of $757.1 million to Strabag Scarborough Project Inc. (“Strabag”) to design, build and finance the tunnel for the Scarborough Subway Extension project (the “Advance Tunnel”). The Scarborough Subway Extension will provide for a 7.8-kilometre subway extension from Kennedy Station to McCowan Road/Sheppard Avenue and will be operated by the TTC as part of Line 2.
