On June 18, 2024, the Federal Court of Canada ruled in favor of Farmers Edge in a patent infringement dispute against Farmobile (now a part of AgGrowth International) regarding ownership of agricultural data-tracking technology. The court found that Farmers Edge had never infringed the patent asserted by Farmobile and that all claims in the patent were and have always been invalid.
On March 27, 2017, Farmobile brought an action for patent infringement against Farmers Edge. Famers Edge counterclaimed to invalidate the asserted patent.
A 3-week trial was held in August 2022 before Justice McHaffie of the Federal Court of Canada.
