McCarthy Tétrault successfully defended ENMAX Corporation and its affiliate ENMAX Shepard Inc. in a judicial review application brought by all of its major electricity power supplier competitors in the Alberta marketplace to quash ENMAX's application to proceed with the Shepard Energy Centre, which is the largest power project proposed in Alberta since deregulation (the last decade) and designed to service over half of Calgary and Southern Alberta. The applicants' judicial review application was entirely dismissed, with exceptional costs awarded to ENMAX. TransCanada Energy Ltd. et al v. ENMAX Corporation et al.
