BDC Capital invests Inc. invests as limited partner in Ripple Venture Fund III LP

BDC Capital Inc. (“BDC”) invested as limited partner in Ripple Venture Fund III LP, a Toronto based limited partnership (“Ripple”). This commitment is the first of two investments made under the inclusive growth stream in respect of the renewed Venture Capital Catalyst Initiative announced in Budget 2021. The inclusive growth stream will help advance diversity, equity and inclusion in the Canadian VC ecosystem by enhancing access to capital for diverse fund managers and Canadian entrepreneurs, strengthen the economy and create good jobs. 

BDC, headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, is the investment arm of the Business Development Bank of Canada, a Crown corporation.

Ripple is a venture ecosystem created to support founders building market-shifting software tools such as enterprise software, creator tools, and developer tools.

McCarthy Tétrault advised BDC with a team led by Mathieu Laflamme that included Alexandre Saulnier-Marceau, Kim Godbout (Business), Christian Meighen, Julien Leblanc and Étienne C. Laplante (Tax).
