BCE and Rogers complete C$1.07 billion acquisition of interest in Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment

On August 22, 2012, BCE Inc. and Rogers Communications Inc. announced the completion of their C$1.07 billion acquisition of a 75% interest in Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) from Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board. MLSE chairman Larry Tannenbaum, through his company Kilmer Sports, owns the remaining 25%.
MLSE operates the Toronto Maple Leafs, Raptors, Marlies and Toronto FC sports teams, and the Leafs TV, NBA TV Canada and Gol TV real estate and television properties. The company also owns Mainstream Sports and Live Music Channel, two services that have not yet launched.
