On July 19, 2007, The Bank of Nova Scotia acquired 24.99% of Thanachart Bank Public Company Limited for Bht7.1 billion (approximately $240 million Cdn). Scotiabank purchased 156,501,200 shares from Thanachart Capital and 276,975,500 new shares issued by Thanachart Bank at Bht16.37 per share.
