On January 23, 2008, the Bank of Montreal, in conjunction with the bank's €7 billion established European covered bond program, issued €1 billion five year covered bonds which are irrevocably and unconditionally guaranteed as to timely payment of principal and interest by BMO Covered Bond Trust. BMO Capital Markets and Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated were the arrangers for the programme, with BMO Capital Markets, HSBC France, Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc, Société Général Corporate and Investment Banking and UniCredit (HVB) acting as lead managers for the issuance.
McCarthy Tétrault LLP advised the syndicate of underwriters with a team led by Dirk Rueter.
