ACS, Aecon and CRH win bid for the C$2.5B Finch West LRT Project

On May 7, 2018, Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx announced a consortium consisting of Aecon Group, ACS Infrastructure and CRH Canada Group Inc. ("the Consortium") had signed a contract valued at C$2.5 billion to design, build, finance and maintain the Finch West Light Rail Transit (LRT) project. The project is due to be completed by 2023.

The Finch West LRT Project consists of designing, building, financing and maintaining the Finch West LRT, which is an 11 km light rail transit line that will run along the surface of Finch Avenue in Toronto. It is a project aimed at expanding transit in the metro Toronto area and will provide rapid transit to neighbourhoods that need it the most in the City of Toronto. Construction of the project is expected to be completed in 2021 with a 30 year maintenance period to follow.

McCarthy Tétrault LLP advised the Consortium on all aspects of the bid with a team led by Linda Brown that included Morgan Troke, Samantha Cunliffe, Ailbish Skinner and Liezl Behm.
