Yasin Celik is an Associate in our Real Property and Planning Group in Toronto. He maintains a general commercial real estate practice.
RECENT EXPERIENCE:
- British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (“BCI”) and QuadReal Property Group on the closing of tranche 3 and tranche 4 of RBC Canadian Core Real Estate Fund’s multi-year acquisition program with BCI.
- Summit Industrial Income REIT on their proposed $5.9 billion acquisition by a joint venture between GIC and Dream Industrial REIT.
- Pure Industrial on their acquisition of a portfolio of industrial properties located in the Greater Toronto Area for over $400 million.
Yasin joined McCarthy Tétrault as a summer student in 2020. During his articles with the firm, Yasin completed a secondment to Royal Bank of Canada, where he assisted the bank’s legal team with regulatory and corporate mandates.
Yasin received his J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School. During law school, Yasin served as a Caseworker for the Osgoode Business Clinic, Osgoode Venture Capital Clinic, and the Community & Legal Aid Services Program (CLASP). Prior to law school, Yasin graduated magna cum laude from the University of Ottawa, where he obtained his Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences in Criminology and Political Science.
Yasin was called to the Ontario Bar in 2022 and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario. Yasin is also an active mentor as part of the First Generation Network, a non-profit organization aiming to reduce barriers for law students who are first in their family to complete post-secondary education.
