Yaroslavna Nosikova is an associate in our Tax Group in Toronto. She maintains a general income tax practice. She regularly contributes tax case commentary to CCH’s Tax Topics. Yaroslavna is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation.
Yaroslavna won The 2015 Canadian Tax Foundation-Bert Wolfe Nitikman Foundation Award for the best tax paper, called “The Foreign Accrual Property Income Regime and Controlled Foreign Company Rules under the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting Action Plan 3: Where Does the Business of "Managing Intellectual Property" stand?". Yaroslavna and her "co-counsel" won the award for the Best Appellant Factum at the 2015 Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot. Yaroslavna also received The 2016 Harvey T. Strosberg Essay Prize for the best student paper on Class Actions, called “Is Class Action a Preferable Remedy for Independent Contractors? A Case Study on the Proposed Canadian Hockey League Class Action”, published in Volume 12(2) of the 2016-2017 Canadian Class Action Review.
Yaroslavna is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation. She is also the Chair and Founder of the non-profit Canadian Association of Lawyers with Russian Eurasian Interests.
Yaroslavna was called to the Ontario bar in 2017. She holds a JD from University of Victoria (2016), and M.A.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto (2011), and a B.Sc. (Hon.) in Chemistry from the University of Toronto (2009).
Prior to law school, Yaroslavna worked for several years as a Clinical Research Associate at the Hospital for Sick Children. Her graduate and clinical research work was recognized in the United States, England, China and Canada. Yaroslavna is a co-author of five manuscripts. Her work was presented at over 12 international and 11 national conferences.
