Xinya Wang is an associate in our Business Law Group in Vancouver. She maintains a general corporate and commercial practice, including lending transactions, project financing, capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity.

Representative transactions and experience include advising:

  • a syndicate of Canadian investment banks, led by BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. and CIBC World Markets Inc., on Coast Capital Savings Federal Credit Union's C$200 million offering of 6.131% fixed rate deposit notes
  • Vantage Airport Group Ltd., through its involvement in the JFK Millennium Partners consortium, on the US$4.2 billion project to develop the new international Terminal 6 at John F. Kennedy International Airport
  • Kennecott Royalty Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rio Tinto plc, in its sale of a 1.2% gross production royalty on the Cortez gold mine and the Fourmile project in Nevada to RG Royalties LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Royal Gold, Inc., for $525 million
  • a syndicate of Canadian investment banks, led by Scotia Capital Inc. and Desjardins Securities Inc., on Coast Capital Savings Federal Credit Union's C$200 million offering of 4.255% fixed rate deposit notes
  • the lenders to the successful bidding consortium on the C$85.3 million Grandview Children's Treatment Centre Redevelopment Project
  • Methanex Corporation in the sale of an equity position in its shipping subsidiary, Waterfront Shipping Limited, to Mitsui O.S.K Lines, Ltd.
  • a port operator company on the establishment of its capital markets platform, its credit facilities and the issuance of public and privately placed debt instruments
  • Vena Solutions Inc. on its $300 million Series C Preferred share financing led by Vista Equity Partners
  • a syndicate of Canadian investment banks, led by CIBC World Markets Inc. and Desjardins Securities Inc., on Coast Capital Savings Federal Credit Union's C$200 million offering of floating rate deposit notes
  • a major forestry company in respect of the issuance and repayment of a series of its senior secured notes
  • the successful bidding consortium on the C$2.60 billion Edmonton Valley Line West LRT Project
  • the lenders to the successful bidding consortium on the C$313.8 million QEW/Credit River Improvement Project

Xinya obtained her Bachelor's in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of British Columbia and her JD from the University of Ottawa.

Xinya was called to the British Columbia bar in 2020 and is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia.
