Sunny graduated with a joint degree in common and civil law from McGill University. He completed his final semester on exchange at Université Jean Moulin Lyon III. From 2016 to 2017, Sunny was Director of Communications at the Legal Information Clinic at McGill. Taking advantage of the opportunities provided by the program at McGill to engage with diverse domains of law, Sunny also served as Managing Editor of the McGill Journal of Dispute Resolution, competed in the Harold G. Fox Moot (intellectual property), volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, and was a member of the editorial team of the law faculty’s student newspaper, Quid Novi.
Sunny grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, where he obtained a BComm with Distinction in Accounting at the University of Alberta. During his undergraduate studies, Sunny completed an exchange semester in Vienna, competed in business case competitions, and led the seminar portion of an introductory accounting course. Between his undergraduate degree and law school, he worked at a commercial real estate brokerage.
Sunny spends his spare time trying out new sports, finding ways to maintain his Mandarin and German, and discovering the quirks of the greyhound he recently adopted.
