Samantha is an associate in our Business Law Group in Toronto. She maintains a corporate and securities law practice focusing on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance (equity and debt) and private equity transactions. She also provides advice on corporate governance, continuous disclosure obligations and general corporate and securities regulatory matters.
Samantha has assisted clients across a broad range of industries with a variety of transactions, including public and private mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, follow-on public offerings, private placements and stock exchange listings.
In 2017, Samantha completed a secondment with the Enforcement Branch of the Ontario Securities Commission. This experience allowed Samantha to gain an enhanced understanding of the regulator’s perspective as well as insight into how to achieve success for clients.
Samantha obtained her Bachelor of Commerce (with High Distinction) from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto in 2014. She received her JD from Western Law in 2017. After her first year of law school, Samantha interned with the debt resolution and business exit team at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. Prior to law school, Samantha spent two summers working as a corporate governance research analyst at the Clarkson Centre for Business Ethics and Board Effectiveness at the Rotman School of Management, where she collected data for “Board Games”, the Globe and Mail’s annual corporate governance rankings report.
Samantha was called to the Ontario Bar in 2018. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, Women in Capital Markets and Young Women in Law.
