RJ received his law degree from the University of Toronto, where he graduated with distinction.
He completed a Master of Global Affairs concurrent with his legal studies. Over the course of his dual-degree, RJ contributed to legal research and advocacy work for Transparency International and Citizen Lab. He was also the legal intern for the University of Toronto’s Governing Council and the monitoring and evaluation coordinator for Pro Bono Students Canada.
Prior to law school, RJ worked for a research group focused on international development and child health, and in this role worked with UNICEF in Zambia, Laos, and Nigeria. He has also worked for a non-profit that aims to develop and sustain positive relations between mining companies and local communities. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from UBC in international relations with a minor in statistics.
In his spare time, RJ enjoys running and getting outdoors in any way possible.
