Owen obtained his J.D. from Western Law in 2024. Prior to law school, he received his Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University with a specialization in Public Policy.
While at Laurier, Owen held various roles in student government, where he oversaw the Student Union’s policy governance system and lobbied government officials on student issues. After graduating in 2021, he worked at the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General, where he supported the province’s Animal Welfare Services division.
At law school, Owen was a judicial intern at the Ontario Court of Justice in London where he assisted the Justices on a wide range of criminal law issues. Owen also worked as a teaching assistant for Western Law’s undergraduate law course.
In the summer after his first year, he worked as a research assistant for Professor Ryan Liss in corporate liability and corruption, transnational crime, and domestic narcotics criminalization.
Outside of the classroom, Owen was a Case Manager for the Western Law Sport Solution Clinic, the Chief Returning Officer for the Student Legal Society, and a member of the Arnup Cup trial advocacy team.
In his spare time, he enjoys running, watching documentaries, socializing with friends, and travelling.
