Owais Ahmed is a partner in our firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group in Vancouver. With more than 15 years of experience, he brings a client-driven, straightforward approach to the complex world of securities law, ensuring that his clients are well-informed and confidently guided through every stage of the litigation process.

Owais has represented a diverse range of clients in securities and commercial litigation matters, successfully handling shareholder disputes, claims against directors and officers, securities class actions, and regulatory issues before the British Columbia Securities Commission, Ontario Securities Commission, Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization, and Canadian securities exchanges. His expertise spans the entire litigation spectrum—from initial case assessment to trial and appeal—allowing him to deftly navigate the nuances of each case and provide tailored, effective legal strategies to meet his clients' unique needs.

He is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, and recognized as a leading securities litigator by Chambers Canada, Benchmark Litigation, Lexpert and Best Lawyers. He is also a past recipient of the Lexpert Rising Stars Leading Lawyers Under 40 Award.

Owais obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2008. He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2009 and British Columbia in 2011. After receiving his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, Ahmed clerked at the Ontario Securities Commission.
